Sarita restaurant

Posted: May/20/2020

We are very pleased to announce that sarita restaurant in Lakewood will be reopening on Thursday, May 31. Sarita’s has been a wonderful supporter of our Meals on Wheels program so we are happy that they will be back in business. We have missed their fabulous food and friendly service. If you’re looking to support local businesses, this is a great one. Bon appetit.

Non-Perishable Food Distributed To Recipients

Posted: March/29/2020

Rocky River Lakewood Meals On Wheels is continuing to deliver freshly made, nutritious meals during the COVID-19 pandemic. We have implemented strict sanitation procedures to protect our meal recipients, volunteers and staff from contact with and transmission of the virus.

Planning ahead, we have given all our recipients a supply of non-perishable food to have on-hand in the event that we are forced to suspend our normal operations at some point in the future.

We currently have the capacity to serve more people who are finding it difficult to purchase or prepare healthy meals. If you or someone you know – friend, relative, neighbor – is in need of our service, please contact us at (440) 333-6298, and browse our website for more information.

We are very grateful for the many new volunteers who have come forward to help us continue our vital service while our regular volunteers in high-risk categories are wisely staying at home. We also extend our sincerest thanks to the generous organizations and individuals who have made donations during this challenging time.

While our Meals on Wheels program is able to continue normal operations at this time, we are making preparations in case the situation changes. We have collected non-perishable food items which we will distribute to our recipients if we are unable to continue normal operations. As always, we are grateful to our dedicated volunteers who generously give their time and talents to our mission and to all our many supporters and donors. You are our our greatest assets.
